Man Ray Chess Set with Board, originally designed in 1920, is beautifully carved in solid beech wood by experienced German craftspeople.
Man Ray enjoyed a great friendship with fellow artist Marcel Duchamp, both avid chess players. Naturally Man Ray decided to design his own set in clean geometric forms referencing history.
King piece is designed in form of an Egyptian king's pyramid, the Queen piece is conical like a medieval queen’s headdress.
