(Un)forbidden City Collection is an important innovative project created in collaboration with 8 Beijing architects and industrial designers. A cultural exchange exploring the potential of Chinese product design, the designers were asked to design a tray:

A Lotus Leaf Tray, designed by Chang Yung Ho of Atelier FCJZ, 2012, is created by 3D printing of an actual lotus leaf picked from the lotus pond in the garden of The Old Summer Palace, and left to dry for 6 months. A mold was created in order to produce A Lotus Leaf Tray in stainless steel.

Like the other trays in the (Un)forbidden City Collection, A Lotus Leaf Tray may be used on either side to present food or simply enjoyed as a striking centerpiece and sculpture.
