The Tapio glass collection was designed by Tapio Wirkkala in 1952. The design is considered synonymous with timeless Finnish form. With his mastery of glass blowing, he was able to capture a single air bubble inside the heavy stem of the Tapio glasses. The bubble now represents the unique, distinctive style, which has become his trademark.
