Table Gun Lamp, designed by Philippe Starck, 2005, is one of the most controversial lighting fixtures produced today. "HAPPINESS IS A HOT GUN" reads the engraving on the base of the Kalashnikov AK47 assault rifle reduced / or up-graded to serving as a lamp, where it is useful and doing a good job providing a warm light. (Instead of being used as a deadly weapon in senseless wars.) The die-cast aluminum Table Gun lamp is luxuriously finished with 18K gold plate. The dramatic black diffusing shade is made with matte black plasticized silk screened with gold on the inside, providing both direct and ambient light. An on/off dimmer switch is installed on the black fabric cord. 20% of the gross sales from the Guns Collection are donated to the Frêres des Hommes Europe Association, an organization that works in developing the growth of local communities & their social structure in underdeveloped countries of the world.
