Brera S Suspension Lamp, designed by Achille Castiglioni, 1992, is designed with an acid-etched flashed opaline glass diffuser in a sculptural oval form, reminiscent of the ostrich egg in Piero della Francesca's Montefeltro Altarpiece in Brera Art Gallery (in Milan) – hence the name Brera. The glass reflector is suspended by a steel cable and powered by 2 electrical cords 16' long, providing a glowing diffused light.
